Three Reasons to Commit to Keep Dancing through the Holidays.

November and December can be hard months to stick with your dance schedule.  Between the holidays and the end of the semester for many students, dance class tends to be the first thing squeezed out of a tight schedule.  Here are three reasons NOT to let your classes slip over the next two months:

1)      Dance is the best stress reliever.  Studying for exams?  Trying to cram in extra time at work so you can take a few days off for the holidays?  Stress can build tension in your body, ultimately leading to poor health. While ditching dance class may be a tempting way to gain time, the benefits of attending class actually outweigh the extra time you'd gain by skipping. Exercise, particularly dance, where we use both our body and mind, can help alleviate the stress that builds up in our bodies. Attend class and you'll find that you can approach the activities that need your focus with a clearer mind and relaxed-but-energized body.

2)      Dance will help you keep off the holiday pounds.  If you're like me-- you love the extra sweets that come with the holidays.  Another great reason to stick with your dance schedule--you won't have to worry about how many slices of pumpkin pie you indulge in. (Recently my husband ate an entire pie by himself-yes, it's true!) If you dance regularly, you know you're putting in the exercise to keep your metabolism functioning at optimum speed.  And if you really love to indulge-take an extra class before the holidays!

3)      The DanceLoft will make it worth your while.  Our prices are already affordable, and now we're making an even sweeter offer to help you dedicate yourself to dance.  Sign up for our "Dedicated Dancer Challenge" and take 12 classes in November and we'll give you a week of unlimited classes for FREE!  See the information below.

Our new children's hip hop teacher
This fall The Danceloft welcomed Amanda Crook to its faculty as our resident children's hip hop instructor.  Amanda has been dancing for many years and has taken classes in Arizona and New York.  She was a member of the Marana High School dance team that took first place in the state competition.  She performs with the Viva AZ cast and the Human Project.  Amanda has a wonderful rapport with the kids and her classes include age-appropriate technique and choreography.

Her classes are still open to new registration, so if you know of any children who love to dance, please pass along the word!

 Dedicated Dancer Challenge
This month, The DanceLoft is sponsoring the "Dedicated Dancer" challenge.  We challenge you to make a commitment to your dancing by taking THREE CLASSES PER WEEK FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER--(or in case you're planning a vacation over Thanksgiving, a minimum of 12 classes for the month).  Buy an unlimited monthly pass ($76) and accept the Dedicated Dancer Challenge. If you succeed, we'll extend your pass by a week!  That's a sweet deal!  We'll post your name and photo on our Dedicated Dancer board (unless you don't want us to) and track your progress throughout the month so we can give you the support and encouragement you need.
The DanceLoft's mission is to provide high quality learning opportunities that reinforce the principle that dance is for everyone. We encourage people of all ages who want to integrate movement into their lives for better physical and spiritual health. Our studio promotes excellence in the field of contemporary dance, inspiring dancers to reach their maximum potential.

Make a commitment today to make dance a part of your life!
