Tammy
Rosen,
Artistic Director, Modern Instructor
Tammy has taught adults and youth for years. In 1997, she co-
founded the professional modern dance company
NEW
ARTiculations Dance
Theatre for which she choreographs, dances and teaches. In
addition to her
performances with NEW ART, she has performed with FUNHOUSE movement
theater, Tenth Street Danceworks
and O-T-O Dance (all in Tucson). She was a 2002 finalist for the
Buffalo
Exchange Arts Award for emerging artists and is a a certified
Fieldwork
facilitator, a method which offers choreographers the opportunity to
develop
their craft within a community of peers. She is in her fourth
year of training to become a
Feldenkrais
®
practitioner
and is mother to Katie Rose (age 4) and Owen (age
1). |

Renee Blakeley, Salsa/Latin Dance
Instructor
Renee Blakeley studied ballet, modern, and jazz at the University of
Arizona
where she graduated with a B.F.A. in Dance and Education. She is
currently
working on her M.A. in Dance at the University of California, Long
Beach. Renee
discovered salsa dancing three years ago, and she fell in love with
it! Since
that time, she has trained in several styles of salsa, including L.A.,
East
Coast, and Rueda. She has also studied other Latin dance forms
including
merengue, bachata, and cha cha. Renee Blakeley is the dance director
at Pistor
Middle School where she teaches a variety of dance techniques to
students in
grades 6 through 8. She founded the Pistor Dance Ensemble (PDE) a
group of
dedicated young dancers who travel all over Tucson to perform in the
community.
Renee is also a dance and choreographer for
NEW ARTiculations Dance
Theatre.

Fonda Hamilton-Insley, Tribal Belly
Dance
Instructor
Fonda has performed as a professional Cabaret and Tribal Style Belly
Dancer for over a decade before she made the transition to instructor.
She has her General Skills Certification through Carolena Nericcio of
FatChanceBellyDance (www.fcbd.com) and has completed all levels of
Tribal Fusion instruction in the Domba style. Fonda has traveled to
dozens of workshops and festivals studying with Unmata, Rachel Brice,
Ultra Gypsy, Gypsy Caravan,Fahtiem, Morocco and many others. Fonda is
a founding member of Midriff Crisis Belly Dance Troupe and the
Director of the Tucson Tribal Dance Collective.

Megan Kehl, Jazz
Instructor
Megan began dancing in Milwaukee, where she trained in
ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, ballroom, modern, and African & Asian
American
dance. Megan first taught at Anita’s Dance Center in 1997
where she was a
company dancer with the nationally performing Midwest Connection Dance
Company.
She was a SPLASH dancer for the Milwaukee Wave National Indoor Soccer
Team
and was one of five to win the L.A. Dance Excellence
Competition Scholarship out of 850 dancers worldwide. In 2005,
Megan graduated
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Marketing
while
maintaining a strong focus on dance. She performed as a
singer/dancer with the UW-Madison Wisconsin Singers, a group
that entertains more than 50,000 people across the nation with
Broadway style choreography, vocals and instrumentals. After
college, Megan moved to NYC and trained with top choreographers at
the Broadway Dance Center. She was a NFL
Professional Cheerleader with the Arizona Cardinals from 2007-2008 and
performed
at Super Bowl XLII hosted in Phoenix. Currently, Megan is a hip
hop dancer
with The Human Project. |

Julia
Miller, Pilates Mat Instructor
Julia
is
a certified Pilates Mat teacher. She teaches the classical
Pilates
Method and has studied locally with Debbie Rocha, Nancee Woods and
John White. In addition to teaching Pilates, Julia has performed
modern dance for
many years with local companies including Thom Lewis Dance, FUNHOUSE
movement theater, O-T-O Dance and NEW ARTiculations Dance
Theatre.

Carolyn Minor,
Int/Adv Modern
Instructor
Carolyn began her dance training at the North Carolina School of the
Arts,
graduating with a BFA in Modern Dance Performance. She moved to NYC to
pursue
further training and professional opportunities. She worked with among
others
Hannah Kahn, Senta Driver’s Harry, Jennifer Muller, and
Pilobolus. She continued
her association w/ Moses Pendleton in Momix, where she danced for six
years. In
Tucson, she danced with ORTS and was briefly the Assistant Artistic
Director of
Orts Theatre of Dance. She was also an original member of Tenth Street
Danceworks. After retiring from her performing career, Carolyn chose
to immerse
herself in the ancient teachings of Yoga. She has been teaching Yoga
for the
past 8 years and is curious to observe how freedom in dance and
awareness in
Yoga are blending within her own style of movement. |

LeighAnn Rangel
Sotomayor, IMAGINE Dance for 1-4 year olds
Leigh Ann is the former Artistic Director, as well as a co-founder,
choreographer, performer and instructor for NEW ARTiculations. She
earned her
Bachelor's Degree in Dance Education from the University of Georgia
and her MFA
in Theater Arts/Dance from the University of Arizona. Since moving to
Tucson in
1996, she has been an active Dance Specialist in the Tucson Community.
Leigh Ann
was an Artist-in-Residence ta Movement
Specialist for Third Street Kids, the Jewish Community Center's Early
Childhood
Program, Casa de Los Ninos, Gymboree Play Programs, Dance Moves
Studio, and the
Amphitheater Extended Program. She has been awarded TPAC Lumie
award and
currently serves as the director of the PCC Center for the Arts
theater. |

Katie Rutterer, Ballet and Modern
Instructor
Katie is originally from St. Louis and has a BA in dance from
Washington
University and an MFA in dance from the University of Arizona.
She has danced
with the Mid-America Dance Company, ATREK Dance, O-T-O Dance, Funhouse
Movement
Theatre, Thom Lewis Dance, and Acorn Dance. She has danced with
NEW
ARTiculations Dance Theatre since 2003 and is currently the
Artistic
Director. Katie has been teaching at the DanceLoft since
2003. She believes
that dance should be hard and sweaty and always fun.

Anton Smith, Hip Hop Instructor
Anton is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Tucson based urban
dance
company The Human Project. He is a native of Philadelphia, PA.
He received
his dance training in the Philadelphia / New York area and has
performed
actively throughout the U.S. since 1992. In 1996, Anton was awarded
city-wide
recognition by WHYY, Philadelphia Public Access Television, for Most
Dynamic
Group for his VIBE Hip-Hop Troupe. He continued his dance studies in
the BFA
program at the University of Arizona in 1999 and received the Honors
College and
Medici Scholars award for choreographic research in 2001. In 2002, at
the finals
of the National Dance Association in Orlando, Florida, Anton's
choreography won
overall in the Best Funk category. |

Jessica Walker, Bellydance Instructor
Jessica studied middle eastern belly dance, primarily Egyptian and
Turkish, for
about six years before moving to Arizona. During that time she
performed
with a dance troupe in a variety of venues. She now teaches beginning
and
intermediate classes here and has plans of creating a dance troupe
here in
Tucson.
